Fiona grew up in Brisbane and moved to Sydney to attend medical school at the University of New South Wales where she graduated with honors. She then completed a Master of Clinical Epidemiology with an interest in preventative health while a junior doctor. Fiona commenced Specialist Training in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery in NSW and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery in 2017.

Fiona then undertook further sub-specialty training in advanced endoscopic sinus surgery and anterior skull base surgery in London, United Kingdom at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and King’s College University Hospital under the mentorship of Professor Claire Hopkins, Dr David Roberts, Dr Florian Bast and Dr PavolSurda.

Fiona’s research has been published internationally. She has co-authored a textbook chapter on imaging in endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery and has been a keynote speaker on quality of life in skull base surgery at a skull base world congress. Fiona is also actively involved in teaching junior doctors and is a member of the Women in Surgery initiative.

Fiona loves to explore new cities, cultures and cuisines. She also likes to cook, ski and spend time with family and friends.
